Diagnosis of Reading Difficulties

Education 414 focuses on the skills and knowledge that classroom teachers need to be able to diagnose students’ reading difficulties. Reading strategies for struggling readers will be a component of this course. Additionally, the course will provide students with the opportunity to plan/implement a remedial program that is appropriate for a disabled reader. A case study approach will be used and students will receive ample opportunities to apply the skills learned. Prerequisites: 3.0 GPA, C- or higher in PSY 101, EDU 230, EIS 285. Pre- or corequisite: EDU 344 or 350.
