Fall of Odd-Even Years This course examines the contemporary Middle East. Country studies will be emphasized as will regional topics such as political, economic, and human development, the Arab-Israeli conflict, disputes between Shi'a and Sunni, political Islam, Islamic militancy, i.e., Jihadism, resources (particularly oil, natural gas, and water), and foreign (especially American) involvement.
