Bigelow, Katie
Bonjour! I’m Katie Bigelow, a freshman here at Heidelberg. I was recently elected to Student Senate after an opening was available prior to the first elections held. I am a member of the Campus Concerns committee. I am first-year member of the Heidelberg Leadership Academy. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education with an Intervention Specialist degree, and minoring in Art. I love to travel, and I’ve been to Kenya, France, and England, along with several states east of the Mississippi. I love everything about the French culture, and I am kind of fluent in French. After obtaining my Bachelors in Early Ed., I want to get my Masters in School Counseling, and become an elementary school counselor. I hope that by being on Student Senate, I will be able to leave my mark in Heidelberg history somehow!
Bryant, Kristina
Hello! My name is Kristina Bryant, but please call me KB! I am from Springfield, Ohio and am a graduating senior at Heidelberg! I was elected to Student Senate as a sophomore representative in 2005. I have served as the Publicity Chair and am currently serving as the Liaison for Student Organizations Chair (LSO). I am a Psychology major with minors in German and Music. I am involved all over campus! I am currently serving as the President of the Berg Events Council (BEC), Vice President of Membership in Alpha Phi Omega, Secretary of the Inter Society Council, and am also involved in Delta Sigma Chi, Order of Omega, Psi Chi, Orientation Leaders, Tutoring, and multiple musical endeavors. I also am the Assistant Residence Coordinator of Williard Residence Hall. I absolutely love being at Heidelberg and am sad that I’ll be graduating in May. After graduation I plan on going to Graduate School to pursue a degree in either Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education.
Buterbaugh, Whitney
Hi! My name is Whitney Buterbaugh, and I am a fourth-year Senior at the ‘Berg. I was elected by the student body to be the junior representative for the 2006-2007 academic year. In addition, I have been elected again by Student Senate to serve as Elections Chair for the 2007-2008 academic year. I am a member of the Honors Program, double majoring in Chemistry and Biology. I am also Vice President of the Philalethean Society, Treasurer of Inter-Society Council, and a member of Tri-Beta, Chemistry Club, Student Ambassadors, Alpha Lambda Delta. After graduation, I intend to attend medical school or pharmacy school.

Hey all, my name is Corin Cieska. I am a sophomore at Heidelberg, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in the Pre-Nursing Program and have been a student senator since the fall of my freshman year. I am currently the Campus Concerns Chair of Student Senate. Along with student senate, I am the President of Colleges Against Cancer, Chair of the American Caner Society’s Relay for Life, and member of Kappa Psi Omega.

 Hi! My name is Keenan Jones, and I am a third-year Senior at Heidelberg. The Student Body elected me sophomore representative in the winter of 2007, and Student Senate elected me Publicity Chair the following semester. I am a member of the Honors Program majoring in Political Science with minors in Communications and Legal Studies. In addition, I am the President of the Rho Eta Delta Men’s Fraternity, the Vice President of Fellowship in Alpha Phi Omega (Alpha Gamma Omicron chapter), the Treasurer of Alpha Psi Omega (the national theater honorary), the Treasurer and Parliamentarian of National Broadcast Society, and the Parliamentarian of the Heidelberg Film Club. I am also a varsity member of the Heidelberg Forensics Team and an active member in Pi Kappa Delta, the national forensics honorary. After graduating Heidelberg, I plan to attend law school.

Hey! My name is Megan Morris, and I am a junior at Heidelberg. The Student Body elected me junior representative in the spring of 2007. I am double majoring in Psychology and Accounting. I’m a member of the Honors Program, Treasurer of Alpha Phi Omega, Treasurer of Berg Allies, President of Spiritual Activities Team, a member of Berg Events Council, and a member of World Student Union. After graduating Heidelberg, I plan to attend graduate school in pursuit of a doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
Olmstead, Jaimee
Hey! My name is Jaimee Olmstead and I am a sophomore here at the Berg. I’m an honors student double majoring in Public Relations and Business Administration. This past year the student body elected me as sophomore representative. While serving on Student Senate I am also a member of the Publicity Committee and on the CRC faculty committee. I am also the Censor, Historian, and Public Relations Chair for the Philalethean Society. In addition, I am an Alpha Phi Tau Lil’ Sis and play in the Trinity UCC Bell Choir. I work for WHEI-FM as the Publicity Chair as well as being and Orientation Leader. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school and find a job as an advertising exec.

Hello! My name is Holly Romelfanger and I am the President of the Student Senate. I am a graduating senior majoring in Spanish and Accounting and a member of the Honors Program. I was elected to serve as a representative for my freshman class in Fall of 2004 and continued to serve as a general member of the senate until this past year when I was elected President in the Spring of 2007. While serving the student body I am also a student ambassador for the admissions office, a resident assistant in Williard Hall, a member of the World Student Union and a fairly avid runner. I will be graduated this spring and have just accepted a position as an associate auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Washington DC Metro Firm and am very excited to be moving there in the fall!

My name is Andrew Sather and I am a Student Senate representative for the senior class. I am a double major in business and accounting, which is why you might hear me heaving dry sobs and muttering about boredom. You might even see me in your computer science classes, which I take whenever I can fit them in. For Student Senate, I serve on the Senate publicity committee and as a student representative for the Faculty’s Educational Policy Committee. Outside of Senate, I serve as the student representative for the Honors Committee, which oversees the administration of the Heidelberg College Honors Program. I also work as a “Student Ambassador” for the Admissions Department and as a Manager in Campus Center. After graduating from Heidelberg this spring, I plan to either trip into the gloomy lull of post-commencement depression and melancholy societal rejection, or go to graduate school and pick up some skills that I actually find useful.

My name is Ben Schwarz and I am the Parliamentarian of Student Senate. I’m a Psychology major currently in my Junior year. I’m involved in many groups here on campus including Rho Eta Delta and Heidelberg Leadership Academy. In my free time, I enjoy a good read and sampling different wines. My next step in life is to receive my diploma and attend a graduate school for Student Affairs.

Hi, my name is Casie Scott and this is my first term on Senate. I am a junior double majoring in Music and Theatre. I am active in three music ensembles: Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Singing Collegians. In the theatre, I serve as lighting director. I am quite active with theatrical productions. I am also a member of Alpha Psi Omega (National Theatre Honorary). I serve as co-publicity chair. I am a member of the Philalethean Society were I am correspondence secretary. After I graduate from Heidelberg, I plan on continuing in live performance and work towards getting my MFA in either theatre or music.

Hello! My name is Walter Scott, and I am a senior at Heidelberg. The senior class elected me senior representative in the spring of 2007. I am a double major in accounting and business administration. I am also a member of the Honors Program. I am also the Business Manager of the Black Student Union here at Heidelberg. After graduation, I plan to become a CPA, and then go to law school.

Hello! My name is Allyson Stanton. I am a freshman at Heidelberg College. I was elected to student senate this fall. I am a member of the publicity committee on Senate. I am majoring in history, and a member of the Honors Program. I am also a member of the Heidelberg Dance Team, the Spiritual Activities Team, and the Young Republicans. I plan to go on after I graduate from Heidelberg and attain my Ph.D. in History in order to become a professor of the subject.
Steinke, Corie
Hi! My name is Corie Steinke and I am a junior here at Heidelberg. I am brand spanking new to Student Senate and I am very excited to be a representative. I am majoring in Religion and also a student in the Honor’s program. Currently, I am serving as Director of Campus Ministry and Spiritual Development on an interim basis while involved in a lot of other Campus Ministry activities including Spiritual Activities Team, Campus Fellowship, and leading worship in ‘Berg Chapel every Sunday. I am also an active member of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, serving as Pledge Master this fall 2007 semester’s pledge class. In addition, I am a member of the award winning ‘Berg Events Council as Director of Music and an alumnus of Alpha Lambda Delta First Year Academic Honorary. I am also a member of Tau Mu Sigma Music Honorary and an Alpha Phi Tau Lil’ Sis. If that weren’t enough, I am also a Resident Assistant in Brown Hall and served on the Homecoming Committee. After I graduate from Heidelberg, I plan on obtaining a Masters degree in Discipline Ministry with a Specialization in College Student Development and getting a nice church job as an area specialist.

Hi. My name is Zaia Thombre and I am the treasurer of Student Senate. I was elected as a freshman representative last year and I've loved being on senate ever since. I am a member of the honors program majoring in Middle Childhood Education. In addition, I am the President of Alpha Lambda Delta, the founder and President of Chess Club, the Chair of Fund raising for CMLA, an active member of Heidelberg Leadership Academy, a Resident Assistant of Miller 5th Floor, and a Student Ambassador. After graduating Heidelberg, I plan on becoming a 4th grade teacher, moving on to politics, and then retiring and opening up an ice cream shop.

My name is Shannon Tiernan and I am a third year senior at Heidelberg. I was elected to Student Senate my Sophomore Year, and was elected Student Senate Secretary in the Spring. I serve as the director of Campus and Community for Berg Events Council. I am a member of the Honors Program. I am also a member of various other organizations around campus. I have been involved in theatre productions at Heidelberg as well. I am a Political Science Major with a Minor in Legal Studies. After Heidelberg I plan to go to Law School or Graduate School. I also am engaged and plan to be married on November 15, 2008.
