New Student Sample Schedule

Because we value close interaction, each student will receive an individual schedule when they arrive for Orientation.  The schedule below serves to help you understand what sessions you will be attending, but they may not be in this order.
 
Day I
 
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM               Registration and Move in
Students will receive their orientation schedules and room keys for their one night stay.  Even if you are commuting to campus in the fall, please plan to spend the night during orientation.
 
2:00 PM – 2:30 PM               Welcome Session
All students and parents will gather in the Great Hall to meet the current faculty, staff and students participating in this Orientation session. 
 
2:40 PM – 3:10 PM               FYE 100 Class
All first year students are required to take FYE 100. This will be the first meeting of your FYE 100 class. Attendance is required.
 
3:10 PM - 3:50 PM                Language Test
All students will take the language test they indicated when registering for orientation. The language test acts as a placement test and will not give you class credit.
 
4:00 PM – 4:20 PM               How to Register Online
Learn how to log on to the college registration system, how to begin looking for classes and how to build your fall schedules
 
4:30 PM – 5:20 PM               What to look for in Classes
Meet with your advisor to beginning looking for class that might interest you, and to learn about the classes you must take to complete your degree in four years.
 
5:30 PM – 6:00 PM               Meet the Class of 2011
Students will have an opportunity to meet the students in their class.
 
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM               Dinner at Presidents House
Enjoy dinner with President Dominic Dottavio and his wife Dr. Lisette Dottavio, as they be open their home for a wonderful meal for students and their families.
 
8:00 PM– 9:30 PM                Registration Session
Use this time to decide what classes you would like to select during registration on the second day.
 
9:30 PM – 10:00 PM            Ice Cream Social
After all that hard work enjoy making your own ice cream sundae with the rest of your class
 
10:00 PM – 12:00 AM           2011 Activities
Finally before the night ends enjoy some great activities with your future classmates. But remember, you have to get some sleep too.
 
Day II
 
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM              Breakfast
 
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM             Advising & Registration
Students will receive time slots based on the receipt of their orientation registration materials. During their allocated time they will meet with their advisor to finalize their fall schedules.
 
10:30 AM - 10:50 AM           Campus Coffee Break
Meet the entire college community as we all take a break to meet and welcome our new community members to their home for the next four years.
 
10:50 AM - 11:30 AM           Living on Campus
Living on campus will become a big part of your life at Heidelberg College. Learn the do’s and don’ts of living on campus, and how to prep for move-in day.
 
11:40 AM - 12:20 PM           Online at the Berg
CNIT, The Computer Network, and Information Technology department will share information about connecting to the campus network and the resources for students.
 
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM             Lunch
 
1:40 PM – 2:40 PM               FYE 100 Class

2:40 PM – 3:00 PM               Check out of Residence Halls
 
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM                Athletic Orientation
Student athletes should plan to meet with members of the athletic department to discuss being a student athlete at the berg.

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM                Honors Program Open House
Students interested in the honors program should plan to visit the honors house to meet the directors of the program.
