Moving from the front row to the coach’s seat in 2010 will be Amanda Atchsion. Atchison concluded a four-year playing career at Heidelberg in 2009 and returns to the sidelines as a graduate assistant coach.
Atchison saved her best season for last, recording 364 kills and a .264 hitting percentage, while tallying 58 blocks in 2009. She helped guide the Berg to its second Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title and an appearance in the NCAA Championships.
During her career, Heidelberg made three trips to the NCAA Championships (2007, 2008 and 2009), as well as emerged into the national rankings for the first time in the history of the program.
Atchison originally hails from Frankfort, Ohio and attended Frankfort Adena High School. She graduated in May 2010 from Heidelberg with a degree in sports management and health and physical education. Atchison is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Heidelberg.
