Alternative Spring Break is one of the most exciting programs offered by the Office of Campus Ministry and Religious Life. The trips are administered by the Campus Minister and the Coordinator for Service Learning. Past projects have included trips to New York, Chicago, New Orleans and Europe. Several opportunities are offered during each year. The Alternative Spring Break has three goals:

  1. Make a tremendous impact in the world through simple acts of charity, goodwill and justice.
  2. Provide urban, rural, and international experiences for Heidelberg students so that they are better prepared to be socially conscious citizens of the world.
  3. Provide a service-learning model for experiencing different cultures and the role of servant leadership.
