For Students

A unique feature of the Center has always been the incorporation of undergraduate students into the research activities undertaken by our staff.  Current Heidelberg College students are employed in laboratory and/or field research, working side-by-side with lead scientists. In addition, several of our staff scientists are members of the Heidelberg teaching faculty, instructing courses in the Water Resources  program and often mentoring student-directed independent research.  The result of this team approach is that our students graduate well-prepared to address relevant water resource questions as they enter the workforce or pursue advanced professional degrees.

Career ideas?

There are a number of water-related career directions to explore.  Fresh water is a scarce commodity in many regions of the US and around the planet, so finding new ways to protect and restore water resources is in high demand.  Many professional organizations have websites that can give you ideas about the ways their members work in the field of water resources, and many can provide scholarship aid too!  Check the Career and Scholarship Info (at left) for more information.
