Theatre Major
I chose Heidelberg because the second I stepped on campus I felt an amazing sense of community.
I majored in Theatre because I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life and Heidelberg gave me the best opportunities to seek professional training in that area.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was balancing 21 credits a semester with anywhere from 4-16 shows a semester, and I handled it by allowing myself to lean on my community of peers when I needed it, but mostly by trusting that I could do it.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to trust myself and my abilities and be self-sufficient.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Alpha Psi Omega, Tri-Alpha, Honors Program, Make-A-Scene and Berg Allies.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was Make-A-Scene because I loved sharing comedy and light with the campus community.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Daisy Long. She was a guest artist lighting designer my sophomore and junior year and she taught me everything I know about lighting.
My advice to new freshman me would be allow yourself to try new things! Trust yourself and do the thing!
My favorite Heidelberg memory is working with guest artist Amanda Bruton on our production of “Puffs” my sophomore year!
My plans after graduation are to get my MBA next year, then I plan to continue to audition for acting gigs and see where I end up after that.
