Music Education Major
I chose Heidelberg because of the family culture that was engrained into the Heidelberg School of Music & Theatre.
I majored in Music Education because my grandfather had success in music education for over 30 years and is loved by so many.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was definitely Covid-19 and I handled it by making sure I was on video chats with my friends.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be successful in all aspects of life.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Marching Band, Concert Choir for two semesters, Jazz Band for a semester and Eugloscian Society.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was Marching Band because of the time spent with friends.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Jon Waters because without him, I wouldn’t have come to Heidelberg.
My advice to new freshman me would be plan time for yourself and enjoy every bit you can. There’s nothing so big and so stressful that will make time freeze, everything will pass with time.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is Marching in the Rose Parade in 2022.
My plans after graduation are to teach junior high instrumental music at West Holmes Local Schools.
