I chose Heidelberg because of their amazing cadaver program and I had family members who attended here.
I majored in Biology because I love science and it is very important for my graduate schooling.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was getting adjusted to the complications of COVID. I handled it by doing as much as I could with people and made the most out of the situation.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be successful in my future occupation.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in SCRUBS, Tri Beta and Chemistry Club
My favorite extra-curricular activity was Tri-Beta and my internship was at the Cleveland Clinic because they were amazing experiences as I served as the treasurer in Tri-Beta and was able to learn so much from witnessing many open heart surgeries at the Clinic.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Dr. Pam Faber because she pushed me to do more than just learn the material. The preparation I received from her will stay with me as I go on to my future career. She also is one of the most caring people I have ever met that truly cares about your success and your future. She will always be the glue that keeps our "Berg family" together!
My advice to new freshmen would be to get out of your comfort zone and get involved in as many things as you can. Experience is everything after college and being well prepared will take you a long way.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is being in cadaver prosection with an amazing group of students that I call my "Berg family.”
My plans after graduation are to attend the Cleveland Clinic School of Cardiovascular Perfusion and becoming a Cardiac Perfusionist.
