Economics Major
I chose Heidelberg because it felt like somewhere I could make my home.
I majored in economics because I want to show the world of politics just how monetarily feasible saving the environment can be.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was beginning my time on campus during COVID, and I handled it by getting involved and never giving up.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to rely on others, both professionally and in my personal life.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in the Philalethean Society, Keep Calm and Carry Yarn, Student Senate, Alternative Break Club, Honors Activity Board, Berg Allies, Honors Committee, Omicron Delta Chapter of Delta Mu Delta, Alpha Lambda Delta, Tri-Alpha, Delta Phi Alpha, Sigma Delta Pi, World Student Union, It's On Us, Student Alumni Association, Berg Buddies, Alliance for Sustainability, and the Berg Body Positivity Association.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was Alternative Break because it helped me to appreciate the small things and was so fun!!
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Professor Scott Miller because he was so incredibly supportive of not only my activities but those of all of my peers.
My advice to new freshman me would be to get involved, but keep time to enjoy being an adult too!
My favorite Heidelberg memory is being formally initiated into my Greek society.
My plans after graduation are to pursue my MBA at Heidelberg and then get my Ph.D. in environmental economics or a related field.
