I chose Heidelberg because of the family atmosphere on campus along with the relationship that I formed with soccer coaches Pat Svihlik and Steven Smith.
I majored in Accounting/Business Administration because I wanted to combine my analytical interests with my desire to learn successful practices of businesses.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. Early on, I was fortunate to have upperclassmen teammates who would invite me to different student groups or events on campus.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Men’s Soccer as a three-time captain, World Student Union as Treasurer, Enactus as Vice President of Finance, and SMYL, which is a mentorship program in Tiffin.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was soccer because of the locker room banter as well as getting to meet and learn from international students.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience’ is Scott Miller because he was a supportive figure not only in guiding me in my accounting career but also by being a passionate supporter of the Men’s Soccer team.
My advice to new freshmen would be to get to know all different types of people on campus. You never know what you can learn from each person or how you can benefit from knowing each other in the future.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is hard to choose. My favorite memories include big wins in soccer, time spent with roommates, and different events on campus.
My plans after graduation are first to complete an internship at Ernst & Young in Detroit. After that, I will be attending The Ohio State University to obtain a MAcc (Master of Accounting) degree
