Originally I chose to come to Heidelberg because I did not want to stop playing a sport.
I majored in Psychology because it just seemed to click with me and was easier to understand.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was that I kept having to take a year off here and there because of my military commitment, and I handled it by working with my professors who are amazing professionals who would help me with anything I needed.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be able to be on my own and be independent.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in wrestling, for every year except my senior year.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was wrestling because the coaches and teammates always made me feel welcomed no matter how long I had taken off school for military.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Coach Tony Patrizi because without him, I would’ve never gone to Heidelberg.
My advice to new freshmen would be to relax and enjoy the ride. Do the things that you can control and don’t worry about those that you cannot control.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is winter break my freshmen year playing a giant manhunt game on campus with the wrestling team.
My plans after graduation are to continue working and take a year to decide if I want to come back for my master’s.
