Dr. Heaton is from California and has lived in New Mexico and Utah. She is starting her 8th year at Heidelberg. Her research interests include male/female communication, specifically men and women as friends. She also enjoy studying self-disclosure of taboo topics. Her dissertation research interviewed women who had chosen to terminate a pregnancy asking them about their confidant choices. Dr. Heaton is a lover of animals and currently has two cats (Jinx and Molly) and loves to adopt elderly dogs.
