Easing anxiety for families: Heidelberg launches new Tuition Guarantee

The Heidelberg University Board of Trustees on October 30th approved the Heidelberg Tuition Guarantee that locks in tuition costs over a student’s four years of study at the undergraduate level.

Increasingly, the cost of higher education is rising across the Midwest, causing uncertainty and anxiety that sometimes means students are not sure they will be able to complete their degree. Heidelberg has taken a bold step to ease the stress and provide confidence that will remain affordable and accessible to students of all income levels.

Heidelberg faculty and students were excited to welcome back “The Intern Queen” Lauren Berger on Friday for the final HYPE Career Ready® Day this semester. Lauren, the CEO and founder of CareerQueen.com and InternQueen.com, was the first HYPE speaker to return to Heidelberg. She offered lots of great advice based on experience for students preparing to find their dream jobs.

Heidelberg’s MAC program is made up of graduate students studying to be clinical mental health counselors and school counselors. A foundational component of being a professional counselor is learning to advocate for clients, within communities, systems, and in the legislation. Every year faculty and students from the MAC program head to the state capitol for legislative advocacy day where they meet with their representative to discuss current bills impacting clients, client care, and the profession.

One year after serving as a student representative for the Ohio Athletic Conference at the annual NCAA Convention, Heidelberg University senior P'hariz Watkins is headed back.  Watkins was selected to attend the virtual conference in January as part of the NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program.

"I am honored to be selected," said Watkins, a member of the men's basketball team.  "This convention is a great opportunity to network with people from all over the country and gain more knowledge about how the NCAA works in full."
