Heidelberg University invites the community to its annual Veterans Day tribute to those who have served. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Monday (Nov. 12) in front of Beeghly Library on Greenfield Street.
The program will include remarks and reflections by Heidelberg alumnus and Vietnam War veteran Ron Willoughby, class of ’68, who will share his experiences as a member of the decorated 5th Marine Regiment Sniper Platoon.

Immaculée Ilibagiza – a hero of unimaginable courage – shared her inspiring story of surviving the 1994 Rwanda genocide that claimed all the members of her family except one brother among 1 million Rwandans. She endured the ordeal by hiding out with seven other women in a 3-foot by 4-foot bathroom in a neighbor’s home for 91 days.
