On May 18, Dr. Beth Schwartz will conclude five productive years as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost. She departs Heidelberg to become Provost and Professor of Psychology at Endicott College in Massachusetts.
“While I am excited about joining the Endicott community and heading ‘home’ to be near family, it is never easy to leave colleagues with whom I will genuinely miss working,” Beth said.

Dean and Professor of Chemistry Bryan Smith loves Heidelberg. Growing up in Tiffin, he enrolled as a first-generation college student in the late 1980s, excelling in the classroom and as a member of the Student Prince football team for a year.
Bryan is taking on a new leadership role at his beloved alma mater. President Rob Huntington announced on Tuesday that Bryan, who is currently also serving as the Dean of Allied Health, Behavioral and Natural Science, has been appointed Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.

The Heidelberg community extends big congratulations to three faculty members, who were honored for their excellence in teaching, commitment to the humanities and distinguished service.
The annual faculty awards were presented last Friday (Feb. 21) at a dinner with their colleagues and members of the Board of Trustees, who were on campus for their winter meetings last weekend.

The halls were alive with the sound of music and many more scholarly topics during the 25th annual Faculty Research Conference Thursday in Adams Hall.
In all, about 20 faculty and staff members presented current ongoing research for their colleagues and students. Dr. Josh Bowman and Dr. Lucia Palmer were the symposium coordinators this year.

Heidelberg education professor Dr. Brian Haley and two colleagues have received special recognition among their peers in the December 2019 issue of Ohio Magazine.
Each December, the magazine publishes a special Excellence in Education section which recognizes higher-education teachers throughout the state for their achievements and dedication. Heidelberg nominated three faculty members for this recognition – Dr. Michele Castleman, Dr. Justin Pruneski and Brian, who received faculty awards last February.
