For 33 years, Tianjin Normal University and Heidelberg University have enjoyed a collaborative and productive exchange – a “jewel of a relationship” which has brought TNU professors to Heidelberg’s campus annually to teach Chinese language and culture. ‘Berg faculty – and in recent years, students – in turn travel to TNU’s campus to teach English to TNU students and educators in the summer.

With many healthcare systems in Ohio and across the nation requiring new nurse hires to have earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, Heidelberg’s new nursing program is coming at the right time to address the rising market need for more highly skilled nurses entering the healthcare profession. And now, the program has a director to guide it through to accreditation and design the courses that will be taught at Heidelberg.

In one of the most highly anticipated evenings of the academic year, four ‘Berg faculty members were honored for their excellence in teaching, research, commitment to the humanities and distinguished service in a celebration of academic excellence Friday night.
The annual awards were presented at a dinner with the Board of Trustees, who were on campus for their winter meetings last weekend.

Dr. William Bradley was passionate about creative writing and was an advocate for female writers. After his passing last August, William’s friends and creative writer colleagues came together to establish a writing contest in his memory.
The William Bradley Prize for the Essay is an annual writing contest for creative non-fiction with the winning essay to be published in The Normal School, a literary magazine out of Cal State-Fresno.
