Heidelberg’s Archives is like a window to the past, where the institution’s history and memorabilia live. For the past 14 years, Professor Emeritus of German Dr. Bob Berg and his wife, Dorothy, have been the keepers of the Archives.
During their time as archivists, these Class of ’65 alumni made a great deal of progress in both organizing the holdings and bringing preservation processes up to date.
But, it’s time for a new chapter. Bob and Dorothy have officially retired as archivists – in Bob’s case, retired again.

Chris Monsour, ’99, an AP biology teacher at Tiffin Columbian High School, has been recognized by the National Association of Biology Teachers with The Kim Foglia AP Biology Service Award.
Tiffin City Schools announced the national award – the top award an AP biology teacher can attain.

In the spring semester, senior Tyler Barker launched a GoFundMe fund-raiser to help his friend, Darnell Cooley, the morning cook in Heidelberg’s dining hall, who is battling cancer. He set out with a goal of $15,000; his “Dollars for Darnell” campaign raised more than $7,000.

Bill Groman '58, an NFL record holder and an ardent supporter of Heidelberg University, has passed away. He was 83 years old.
A native of Tiffin, Groman was an All-American in 1957 playing for College Football Hall of Fame inductee Paul Hoernemann. That season, his senior campaign, Groman led the nation with 19 touchdown receptions. He inducted into the Heidelberg Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.
