Sports are in Mandy (Hanning) Patriarche’s blood. So is advocating for people with intellectual disabilities. She was able to marry the two when she became vice president of Outreach for Special Olympics Montana. For the last six years, Mandy, a ’10 Heidelberg grad, has been living her dream in the place where her heart led her.

In 2010, Holocaust survivor Jimmy Lichtman and liberator and ‘Berg alumnus Don Behm, class of ’51, came face to face on the Heidelberg campus to share their harrowing yet inspiring stories. After that, the university created the Lichtman-Behm Genocide Lecture Series in their honor and to create an important awareness around the theme of “never again.”
On Tuesday Feb. 23 at 6:30, Heidelberg and the Together We Remember Coalition will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Lichtman-Behm Genocide Lecture Series with a virtual program. Everyone is invited to participate.

February 11 marked International Day of Women and Girls in Science and Tri Beta, a biology honorary society at Heidelberg, celebrated accordingly with a professional development series focused on female alumni in the science field.
Alumni Melanie Cohn ’19, Rachel Raimondo ’18, and Bri Casement ’20 joined a virtual panel with biology professor Dr. Pam Faber, Tri Beta President senior Christina Mealwitz and 11 other Heidelberg students studying science.
