MAC professor to lead state counseling group

Dr. DoHee Kim-Appel, associate professor of graduate counseling, has been elected president-elect of the Ohio Counseling Association, the professional organization representing all licensed counselors and those in graduate training to become counselors.

Adrianne Johnson, past president of the Ohio Counseling Association and chair of OCA’s Nominations/Elections committee, made the announcement on Monday.

Senior recitals are the culminating experience for Heidelberg music majors, celebrated with pride and joy by students, families and faculty members alike. But when COVID-19 disrupted the spring semester, sending students home at the midway point, seniors Emma Breyley, Marques Johnson and Will Sweeney had to reimagine their recitals and instead of preparing for live performances, they had to rehearse and perform on a virtual stage.

In his 30 years working in long-term care, Dan Miller, ’90, executive director of Parkvue Community in Sandusky, Ohio, has planned for pandemics but never imagined we’d see such a widespread public health crisis.
