Heidelberg University has been granted funding from the U.S. Department of Education under the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). These funds are designated to assist students who have experienced financial hardship brought on by the COVID-19 health crisis. The university is currently in the process of dispersing the funds to students. Any Heidelberg student who filed the 2019-20 FAFSA is eligible to apply for grant money to assist with incurred expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic including:

Heidelberg is pleased to share the names of the 512 students whose outstanding academic achievements in the spring 2020 semester have landed them on the dean’s list. According to Provost Dr. Beth Schwartz, students who earn dean’s list recognition must be enrolled full time and meet university academic criteria.

Heidelberg University announced today that it plans to reopen its campus this fall. Like colleges and universities around the country, Heidelberg was closed in mid-March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and students finished their spring semester classes online.
The decision to reopen came after thoughtful and careful planning, and communication with and guidance from local, state and national authorities.

Yesterday, the Heidelberg University Class of 2020 should have had their procession down Greenfield Street to Hoernemann Stadium for their graduation ceremony. Families would have celebrated as their loved ones’ names were called in alphabetical order. But this was a different year. COVID-19 guaranteed that.
