Caleb Frye’s first year of graduate school has been full of twists and turns, especially in the research world of COVID-19.
Following graduation from Heidelberg last May, Caleb selected Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where he’s pursuing his Ph.D. in chemistry with a research focus in biochemistry. His timing was perfect; he hopes to develop his research specialization in the biochemistry of infectious diseases.

Over the next 10 years, the job outlook for mental health counselors is anticipated to grow 25%. Heidelberg University’s Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program is well positioned to train the counselors that will fill some of those jobs in a myriad of areas of expertise.
And they will be very well trained. Recently, the MAC program was recognized as one of the best nationwide. Best Value Schools has ranked the program as No. 19 in a recent evaluation.

One of the strangest seasons imaginable has ended on a high note for the Heidelberg University wrestling team. On Friday, 'Berg junior Devin Miller was named the recipient of the Ohio Athletic Conference's John Summa Award, given to the top wrestler in the conference. Miller, along with two-time All-American Dylan Roth, were both selected as all-conference performers.

The pandemic wasn’t about to stop our students from letting ‘Berg donors know how thankful they are for the opportunities their generosity and support provide! On Thursday, the Student Alumni Association, with support from the Office of Alumni Engagement, led the ninth annual TAG (Thank A Giver) Day as part of National Student Philanthropy Month. “Tags” were placed on buildings and other locations on campus that exist because of donor support. Students, faculty and staff also wore “tag” stickers as their efforts at Heidelberg are also supported by donor generosity.

Heidelberg Band Director Jon Waters knows exactly where he’ll be when the calendar rolls over to 2022. He’ll be among more than 250 band director friends who will be performing in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
