Spanish Major Requirements

In view of the historical, social, economic, political, geographical, linguistic and cultural ties and relations of the United States with Spain and all the Spanish speaking countries in America, the study of the Spanish language and the Hispanic Culture in general has become a very desirable and indispensable asset for any American college student.

•  SPA 489: Spanish Portfolio
•  SPA 490: Senior Capstone Experience
•  One Spanish course in Latin American or Spanish (Peninsular) literature
•  One course in Latin American or Spanish (Peninsular) culture

It is recommended that students spend at least a semester or a summer at a foreign study site approved by the Department of Languages.
