Orientation is an all-day event, filled with fun experiences and new friends. Check-In starts at 9:00 AM. The day kicks off with a Welcome from our Senior Leadership Team at 9:45 AM. Below is a detailed list of sessions that wrap up by 5 PM.
Paying the Bill: Navigate and view how to pay the bill. You will be able to authorize individuals, such as a parent, guardian or spouse to make payments and to receive eStatements. Learn what the charges mean when you see your first eStatement.
HYPE Career Ready: Jacqueline Sironen, Director of Student Engagement and HYPE, will provide an overview of the HYPE Career Ready program and all the amazing experiences you’ll have with HYPE!
Financial Aid: You and your guests will have the opportunity to meet one on one with a member of our Financial Aid staff to discuss required financial aid paperwork including how to complete the Tuition Payment Plan. They will review payment options including the Parent Loan (PLUS) and Private Student Alternative Loans.
Stoner Health and Counseling Center: Stoner Health Center staff, including the nurses, counselors, and disabilities coordinator will discuss the services provided. They will address hours of operation, the offerings that each service line provides to students, as well as the student health insurance policy.
ResLife/Commuter Services: Residential students will get an overview of Res Life. Commuters will explore the services designed with the commuter student in mind: parking, dining, commuter lounge, and wifi.
Academic Advising: You will get to meet with an academic advisor to discuss your major, classes, and the Heidelberg curriculum.
Student Life: Heidelberg has a lot to offer outside of the classroom! Study Abroad, Student Life (Clubs, Activities, and Greek Life), Intramurals, and Multicultural Affairs are part of this exciting session.
FOR PARENTS ONLY! While your student is interacting with their peers, there will be special sessions just for you, including basic information about university policies and procedures; understanding student records and third party access to student records; Stoner Health and Counseling Center; Safety and Security at Heidelberg; a Coffee Break with Campus Partners; and understanding your student’s class schedule.
