Advice to millennials: Get curious, find focus

‘Berg alumnus Ed Knopf, ’65, who served as the School of Business’s Executive-in-Residence this week, has hired a few people in his day … well, more than a few. As the owner of nearly a dozen companies over his career, he’s uniquely qualified to speak about today’s workforce.

During his time on campus, Ed spoke to a number of classes, met with student organizations in the School of Business and participated in a panel on millennials in the workplace.

The Patricia Adams Lecture Series just wrapped up its seventh year, and it has become a highly anticipated event each semester. Students walk away inspired and empowered.

The Honorable Susan P. Graber was no exception.

“This series really empowers us to go out and accomplish things,” said Morgan Bingham ’20. “It’s a great way to meet new people and network,” added Kenna Pancake ’20.

Experiencing The Worldwide Leader in Sports

Four students traveled last week to Bristol, Connecticut to take in the full ESPN experience.

Randy Buffington, Scott Carpenter, Geoff Helms and Mallory Paul are all WHEI-TV 10 anchors. The group at WHEI-TV 10 produces “Live at 5,” a weekly newscast Tuesdays at 5 p.m.

All four students along with Robyn White, media producer and coordinator, made the trip to the ESPN studios to job shadow ‘Berg alum and SportsCenter host John Buccigross, ‘88.

Senior takes on It’s On Us planning

Like many of his peers, senior Colin Higgins knows “far too many people” who have been victimized by sexual violence. He and two classmates decided the time was right to do something about it. So the week of April 10 has been designated Rape and Sexual Assault Awareness Week on campus.

With Heidelberg’s launch of the It’s On Us campaign this semester, Colin has organized a series of events around the theme. The idea became his Senior Honors Project.
