Heidelberg to welcome Russian pianist Nikita Mndoyants

World-renowned pianist Nikita Mndoyants gave his first public recital at age 8 and recorded his first CD at 10. He’ll bring his talents to Heidelberg University Friday, Jan. 26, as the School of Music & Theatre’s Distinguished Montague Artist. His concert, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7 p.m. in Brenneman Music Hall.

 Mdoyants’ concert will feature pieces by classical composers Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms, as well as an original composition, titled “Intermezzo.”

Expert on small business lending to speak at Heidelberg

Heidelberg University’s School of Business, Computer Science and Information Technology will welcome Brett Barkley, a senior research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, for this semester’s HSB-FED: State of the Economy discussion.

Barkley’s topic will be Small Business Lending. His presentation will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Adams Hall. The community is invited, free of charge. Seating is limited; please RSVP to by Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Sex trafficking survivor headlines Human Trafficking Awareness Week

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and Heidelberg University is planning a series of presentations the week of Jan. 22-25 to bring light to the issue, including a keynote talk by a long-term survivor who now works to assist rescued victims and families and educate the community about human trafficking.
