Scary Stories to Tell at the Berg
Wednesday, July 17, 2024
Led by researchers from the National Center for Water Quality Research, attendees will become water detectives to determine the health of local streams and wetlands. In the field, hands-on training with specialized water quality equipment will help attendees learn how to assess the physical, chemical, and biological components of streams and wetlands. After collecting their own data, attendees will learn how to analyze the data they collected to determine the health of the water. Lastly, they will learn how their findings can be used to guide decision-making and policy on real-life water quality issues threatening our freshwater systems. This camp is for current high school students.

Theatre Slay Day
Saturday, July 20, 2024
One Day Theatre Intensive Summer Camp, taught by Karla Kash, Director of Theatre at Heidelberg University, is an opportunity to learn acting, singing, and dancing techniques for performing in theatre. During the camp, students will learn a short jazz/hip-hop dance combination and work on improvisation, monologues, and songs. Students who wish to sing will need to bring a memorized song with the track. The songs should be around 90 seconds in length. If students have a short monologue memorized, around 90 seconds, they should prepare that as well. There will be monologues available for students to work on at the event. All students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes that they can move in. No flip-flops, sandals, or bare feet are allowed. This camp is for current high school students.
