Daniel Higgins

In addition to his 25+ years teaching at his alma mater, Dan has been in private practice as a licensed mental health therapist since 1995. His company, Cornerstone Counseling, has three locations in North Central Ohio. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Ohio Forensics Association where he has served on the executive board. Dan enjoys serving his home community of Bellevue through his involvement in the Bellevue Rotary Club, The Bellevue Hospital Foundation Board Scouting America Troop 339 and his local church. As a faculty member, Dan has been recognized as Student Advisor of the Year (2021) for his work with Heidelberg's speech team and Educator of the Year (2019) by the Ohio Forensics Association. Dan has been married to his spouse, Liesl, since 1994 and they have 3 son

Courses Taught

Dan regularly teaches Public Speaking and Engagement, including a section for students with heightened levels of speaking anxiety. He also teaches Family Communication and serves as the Director of Heidelberg's Speech Team.
