Dr. Nathaniel Beres earned a B.S. in chemistry and biology from Walsh University and a Ph.D. from The University of Akron. At Heidelberg, Dr. Beres's research group utilizes electrospinning as a method for drug delivery. Other research interests include synthesizing hydrogels, testing modified natural compounds as antimicrobial agents, and chemical education. Dr. Beres is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). On campus, Dr. Beres serves as the advisor to the Heidelberg University ACS Chemistry Club and Rho Eta Delta. Dr. Beres is passionate about getting students off campus to see how science is used in real-life applications.
