Dr. Nathaniel Beres earned a B.S. in chemistry and biology from Walsh University and a Ph.D. from The University of Akron. At Heidelberg, Dr. Beres's research group utilizes electrospinning as a method for drug delivery. Other research interests include synthesizing hydrogels and testing modified natural compounds as antimicrobial agents.

Dr. Beres is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). On campus, Dr. Beres serves as the advisor to the Heidelberg University ACS Chemistry Club and Rho Eta Delta.
