b'TRAVELStudy Abroad trip to ItalyIn May, 20 HU students traveled to Italy in a study abroad program led by Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki and Professor Doug Woods. On the 10-day trip, MBA and undergraduate business students traveled to multiple cities, including Milan, Turin Bra, Parvia and Parma, where they saw important cultural sites and experienced the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of the country. Students attended industry sessions with lectures from business professionals including a visit to The Fab Lab, a co-working space in Milan that focuses on start- Studying abroad in Italyups, a hazelnut farm and vineyard where they learned about the Slow Food Movement (started in Italy in 1987) and family farms and vineyards, and the Ferrari Museum, where they had a lecture on Ferraris innovative marketing and branding strategy and the importance of teamwork and collaboration. It was extra special for two students who celebrated their birthdays while there.Family businessIn April, Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki and her family visited HU MBA student Trent Greens family dairy farm. Trent gave her family a tour of the family business, Youngs Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs, Ohio, founded in 1869. The farm is well-known for its ice cream and cheese and is a popular family destination.ACBSP ConferenceIn June, Dean Todd Harrison and Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki attended the annual ACBSP conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there, they both participated in training for evaluating business programs that are accredited by ACBSP.
