Author Neal Schaffer visits HeidelbergNeal Schaffer is a fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and an author of 6 books. After reading his book, The Age of Influence during the pandemic, Dr. Salil Khetani felt it was very informative and comprehensively covered the various forms of influencer marketing with real-life examples and practical guidelines. Salil reached out to him on LinkedIn last year to talk about an article he posted and he became a contact. Later on, Neal sent him a copy of his recent book, Digital Threads, to review and Salil invited him to Heidelberg University. He instantly agreed to not only give a talk about Digital Threads to the students and the Tiffin community on the evening of March 27, but also teach a HYPE session in the afternoon on promoting yourself and your business through LinkedIn based on his other recent book, Maximizing LinkedIn For Business Growth. Before the main evening event, Salil invited students from the MKT 410 class on Integrated Marketing Communication; Heidelberg University Leadership, Faculty, and Staff; and selected members of the Tiffin business community to a dinner to interact with Neal. Since the book, Digital Threads, is a simplified workbook on digital marketing for small, local businesses, Salil put a lot of focus on inviting the local community. The main event was held at Herbster Chapel and Neal spent a little over an hour going through various steps that small businesses can take to expand their business through digital marketing by simplifying it into the three buckets of search, email, and social media. The session was well received by the students, faculty, as well as members of the Tiffin community.5 www.heidelberg.edu/school-of-business Spring 2025'
