Business Administration Major
What made you choose Heidelberg, and when did it start to feel like home?
Coming from a small high school, I chose Heidelberg because of its academic excellence and the ability to engage more with peers and faculty due to smaller class sizes. Heidelberg really started to feel like home after my first semester of freshman year when I was able to walk around campus and see friendly faces everywhere.
What moment at Heidelberg made you feel most proud to be a Student Prince?
While every moment spent here on campus makes me feel proud to be a Student Prince, I would say that the opening of Frann's Fieldhouse was an awe-inspiring and proud moment for me. Being able to be a part of being one of the first students to walk through the doors was really an experience like no other. It was incredible to see the facility and then experience all the cool things it provides to us!
What’s a class, club, or activity you joined on a whim and ended up loving?
I joined Model United Nations on a whim (and also at the suggestion of Dr. O'Reilly), and it was an experience like no other! The class itself was engaging and interesting, but the trip to San Francisco was one that I will never forget. I made new friends, had new experiences, and got to learn about the international relations that compose the United Nations.
What relationship or friendship here has meant the most to you and why?
The friendship that has meant the most to me here at Heidelberg is my friendship with my roommate, Hannah. We met in my freshman year and have been inseparable ever since. Our friendship has been the most meaningful because I have never known someone who has been more reliable than she is. She is the first to make me smile when I am down, and one of my biggest cheerleaders in all the endeavors that I have taken on here. I am so thankful that Heidelberg brought me her.
What experience at Heidelberg best prepared you for your next step?
Honestly, my interactions and experiences with my professors have best prepared me for life after college. They have been so supportive of every challenge that I have taken on and guided me along the way on how to make the best decisions for my major and my life. I have so much appreciation for the staff and faculty of Heidelberg!
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about how to be successful at Heidelberg?
Get involved! I have met so many people here through groups and organizations outside of classes that I will genuinely stay connected to for the rest of my life. It is scary at first to put yourself out there, but I promise that it will all pay off in the end!
What are your plans following graduation?
I am returning in the fall to complete my MBA here at Heidelberg and also play my fourth year of Women's Soccer! After my MBA, I hope to be hired full-time in a Marketing position at the company where I am interning.
Finally, what’s one thing you hope never changes about Heidelberg?
The community! I love that despite the small campus size, Heidelberg provides a community presence like no other. I have met people from all over the country and formed lasting friendships with them, and everywhere I go, I know I can count on seeing a friendly face.
