The Heidelberg University campus is closed in response to the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Classes are being taught through remote learning. Essential work is continuing as needed. Offices and departments can be contacted through email or phone calls. Read more information about the campus response to COVID-19.
Here at the ‘Berg, we work hard—but we think having fun is just as important. Our campus hums with energy, creativity, and humor. On any given day or night, sports, clubs, performances, and exhibits abound. Or you can simply enjoy the company of your friends, building ties that might well last a lifetime. We also strongly believe in supporting one another through both good and challenging times. We offer a range of academic and personal services to help all members of our community thrive and grow to their full potential. Here’s what we can do together.
Each residence hall is governed by resident assistants (RA's) and a head resident coordinator (RC). This team plans events for their hall and works with other teams to plan joint events on campus. Every year this residence hall council plans including a 5k race, Homecoming Carnival, Haunted Krieg Hall Trick or Treat, and Lil Sibs Weekend. Your RA will also plan small activities for your hall or even just your floor for you to get to know your neighbors.
Residence Hall Amenities
All bedrooms have a bed, dresser, desk, chair, bookshelf, and a wardrobe/closet for each student. Some living spaces may have additional amenities based on room type.
All Heidelberg residences halls are Wi-Fi enabled, including a direct computer connection and cable hook-up in each room. All residence halls have access to 24-hour printing. Either a computer plus printer or a printer with network connection is located in the residential complex.
Kitchens, Lounges, and Rec Rooms
Every hall is different, but most halls have a basic kitchen and one or more lounges for you to meet up with friends or find a quiet place to study.
Laundry facilities are located in the basement or common areas of each building. Free-use laundry is available in all residential complexes. Residential students do not have to pay to use these machines.
Waste and Recycling/Sustainability
Students are responsible for emptying their trash in the dumpsters outside each residence hall. Heidelberg is also committed to sustainability and has designated recycling dumpsters as well as recycling receptacles around campus.

Students are allowed to have overnight guests (non-students) provided they register them with Residence Life and Campus Security Offices. Students must also obtain consent from their roommate prior to guest stay. See your floor RA for further information.
This is where you can find the RA on duty each night. If you’re locked out, need supplies, or want to check out games, a RA will be available to help you.
Residential students have five designated parking lots. Some lots are open to students after 5:00 PM. All students must register their car with campus security, including guests.
