The Heidelberg University campus is closed in response to the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Classes are being taught through remote learning. Essential work is continuing as needed. Offices and departments can be contacted through email or phone calls. Read more information about the campus response to COVID-19.
Heidelberg wants to challenge students, faculty, and staff to think about service as a lifelong commitment. To complete the Berg Service Challenge you must volunteer 10 hours each semester at a local organization of your choice. There are numerous organizations, agencies, and churches that are working together to make the city of Tiffin as strong as possible and they need your help.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day On of Service
On this day off from classes, students, faculty, and staff serve the community to honor the life and teachings of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Projects have included working with the local assisted living homes, park clean ups, and making meals for the Stop Hunger Now organization.
Alternative Break Trips
Travel with your friends, faculty and staff mentors on trips near and far where you will serve, learn and have fun. Alternative Spring or Winter Break Trips incorporate a service component, outings to discover the community, and group reflection time. You could volunteer to build houses with Habitat for Humanity, teach English to elementary students in Nicaragua, or help those impacted by the hurricane in Biloxi, MS. Come ready to be transformed by the people you're going to meet.
