Chandlier Hulse is an Assistant Professor of Criminology in the Behavioral Sciences Department. She is currently working on her Ph.D. dissertation at Indiana University, focusing on the spatiality of unhoused individuals and applying geographic concepts to the criminal justice system. She graduated in 2018 from Radford University with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice, where her thesis focused on understanding how police use social media as an online form of community policing. She also graduated in 2016 from Tiffin University with a bachelor’s degree of Criminal Justice in law enforcement. Chandlier has experience working as a corrections officer and interned with Metro Police (Washington, D.C.) as a criminal research specialist. She also recently won a national teaching award from the Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences as an outstanding graduate student in the classroom.
