About

Morgan Kocher started at Heidelberg University in 2018 with the start of the Exercise Science major. Prior to coming to Heidelberg he attended Linfield College, where he completed his BS in Athletic Training and played football. He completed his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and his Doctorate at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa where he was a graduate assistant for the Hawai’i Center for AIDS and the Hawai`i Concussion Awareness Management Project (HCAMP). He also taught courses for the Kinesiology & Rehabilitation Science Department, the John A. Burns School of Medicine, and Kapiolani Community College. He has published in several journals, including the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and had posters and presented at both regional and national conferences.

Since coming to Heidelberg, Morgan has taught classes in both the Exercise Science and Health Science majors. He has also worked with numerous teams to assist with testing or improve their strength and conditioning programs, assisted his students in designing and completing their Senior Research projects, and works with Honors Program students on their projects. Due to his work with athletics and providing sports photography services on gamedays, he has been awarded the Most Supportive Campus Community Member by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee twice (2022 & 2024).

Morgan currently resides in Tiffin where he enjoys cooking and woodworking in his free time.
