About

Emily Isaacson is a Professor of English and Director of the Life of the Mind Honors Program at Heidelberg University, in Tiffin, Ohio. Prior to arriving at Heidelberg, she was on faculty at Chowan University in rural North Carolina, where she served as the Coordinator of the Chowan Critical Thinking Program. Trained initially as an early modernist, she studied at Augustana College and the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her scholarly interests include empathy in the literature classroom, early modern city comedy, as well as the intersection of the Humanities and Honors Education, and her work has appeared in such places as the Ben Jonson Journal and The Journal of the Midwest Modern Language Association. In addition to her work teaching and researching, she has been known to write poetry and dabble in photography.
