What made you choose Heidelberg and when did it start to feel like home?
I chose Heidelberg because from the moment I stepped on campus, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It really started to feel like home being a part of the women’s soccer team and building lifelong friendships.
What moment at Heidelberg made you feel most proud to be a Student Prince?
I feel most proud now, just looking back on everything from the friendships, the personal growth, and the experiences that made Heidelberg feel like home.
What’s a class, club, or activity you joined on a whim and ended up loving?
Definitely CRU! I didn’t expect much going in, but it ended up shaping my faith and giving me an incredible community.
What’s your best “only at Heidelberg” story?
One ‘only at Heidelberg’ thing is seeing the flags up on campus and immediately knowing it’s going to be an extra good H-mann day.
What relationship or friendship here has meant the most to you and why?
My friendship with my best friend Niah has meant the most to me. We’ve been close since high school, played soccer together, and getting to continue that here while growing in our faith side by side has made it even more meaningful.
What opportunity outside the classroom shaped you the most?
Being part of the women’s soccer team has shaped me the most. It’s taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of being part of something bigger than myself.
What is a lesson from college that you will carry with you forever?
College has taught me to slow down and appreciate the small moments, because they go by faster than you think.
What memory still makes you smile, no matter what?
The 4–3 comeback against Capital, just the energy, the belief, and the way our team came together made it a memory that still makes me smile.
What experience at Heidelberg best prepared you for your next step?
The Longaker Rat Lab and research experiences at Heidelberg, particularly assisting with Dr. Faber’s rat surgeries in Anatomy and Physiology, have been the most impactful in preparing me for my next step at Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. They helped me grow my skills and confidence by giving me those hands-on experiences.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about how to be successful at Heidelberg?
My advice would be to build strong friendships and be kind to everyone you meet, because those relationships make all the difference at Heidelberg.
What are your plans following graduation?
Following graduation, I am attending The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to pursue my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Finally, what’s one thing you hope never changes about Heidelberg?
I hope the close-knit community and the way people genuinely care for each other at Heidelberg never changes, and I hope Bistro’s siggy sauce chicken chunks stay the same too!
