Health Science Major
I chose Heidelberg because the campus was stunning, and the atmosphere felt like home.
I majored in Health Science because I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the health field, and the health science degree gave me flexibility to explore health professions.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was discovering my passion in my career path. I handled it by self-reflecting and diving into some research about the majors offered. I switched my major to health science, and found my path.
The best opportunity I discovered at Heidelberg was being a part of the Heidelberg Softball team. This provided me lifelong connections and friendships that I'm beyond grateful for.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in HU softball, Down for Love, Cru, SCRUBS, Leadership class, and SAAC.
The thing I'm most proud of about my Heidelberg accomplishments is graduating with a Health Science major and minors in biology and psychology.
One faculty member who impacted my 'Berg experience is Professor Pam Faber because she opened the door for a unique experience with hands-on learning using the cadaver and animal labs.
My advice to new freshmen me would be to enjoy the time you have here because it flies by. Spend less of it stressing and more of it just doing.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is going to Hedges-Boyer Park to play volleyball on the sand courts in the evenings.
My plans after graduation are to attend Xavier University to pursue an MSN through their accelerated MIDAS program.
