What made you choose Heidelberg, and when did it start to feel like home?
One of the biggest reasons I chose Heidelberg was Coach Maddy. She made me feel so supported, and even when I got to Heidelberg, she supported me in everything outside of soccer, too. I think she embodies what Heidelberg is, because I've felt the same support from everyone I've met at Heidelberg. Heidelberg always felt like home to me because of the supportive community and the team I had around me.
What moment at Heidelberg made you feel most proud to be a Student Prince?
I felt most proud to be a Student Prince when my grandparents came to campus to buy clothes from the bookstore as a gift to me. When they got to campus, they were confused about where to go and where to park, but students who didn't know who they were were more than willing to stop what they were doing to help them. My grandparents were very thankful and couldn't express enough how amazing these students were, and that they were glad that I would be joining that community.
What’s a class, club, or activity you joined on a whim and ended up loving?
When I came to Heidelberg, I didn't have any intention of joining Greek Life at first, but I got to meet a lot of the Phis and decided to join. It's one of the best decisions I made during my time here. I've made lifelong friends and have grown so much because of Phi.
What’s your best “only at Heidelberg” story?
Every spring semester, I can always look out the window during my Sauerwein classes and watch the geese, wondering if they'll attack someone.
What relationship or friendship here has meant the most to you and why?
I can't pick one, but I would say all the relationships I've formed with my professors. Every professor I've had here, I know, would help me with anything I need or would just be there for me to talk to.
What opportunity outside the classroom shaped you the most?
The spring break service trip to Back Bay Mission. I've gone twice, and both experiences were really eye-opening. I hope every student can experience this at least once.
What is a lesson from college that you will carry with you forever?
It's okay to ask for help. Everyone around you wants you to succeed and is willing to help you if you ask.
What memory still makes you smile, no matter what?
Singing "Oh Philalethean" with our alumni during Greek Sing
What experience at Heidelberg best prepared you for your next step?
During my internship for HSC 370, I shadowed an orthopedic PA and really solidified that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about how to be successful at Heidelberg?
Get involved in something on campus that's outside of your comfort zone; you'll be missing out on so many opportunities if you don't.
What are your plans following graduation?
I'll be taking a gap year to gain patient care experience while applying to PA schools.
Finally, what’s one thing you hope never changes about Heidelberg?
There's always something to do on campus, whether it's a sporting event or some other sponsored event.
