Music Education Major
What made you choose Heidelberg, and when did it start to feel like home?
I chose to come to Heidelberg because of the comfort of being myself while in the learning process. The professors also made me feel like a person and not a number. I felt at home on day one of freshman year.
What moment at Heidelberg made you feel most proud to be a Student Prince?
The 2025 Alumni Weekend was such a memorable experience for me. It was amazing to see the impact that our alumni have had on our campus and how their legacy still lives on.
What’s a class, club, or activity you joined on a whim and ended up loving?
Sigma Tau Nu. I told myself that Greek Life was for me because of the stereotype of fraternities. I decided right before the form closed to fill it out. It became one of the best experiences at Heidelberg. I became the president of the group for 2 years, which led me to be the Greek Life Council president as well.
What’s your best “only at Heidelberg” story?
Being the President for a Day on April 14th, 2025.
What relationship or friendship here has meant the most to you and why?
The friendships between the Music Education majors have meant the world to me. We all have come from different backgrounds in life and experienced things in a lot of different ways. We take all that knowledge and put it into making our skills the best. These people have become my family and people that I know for the rest of my life, I can lean on.
What opportunity outside the classroom shaped you the most?
Working at the Alumni Weekend and being an Orientation leader.
What is a lesson from college that you will carry with you forever?
Don’t be afraid to fail. The harder you fail, the better you learn.
What memory still makes you smile, no matter what?
The opportunity to switch roles with the President of the University.
What experience at Heidelberg best prepared you for your next step?
All the leadership opportunities I have had within the SMT and around campus.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about how to be successful at Heidelberg?
Talk to your professors even if you don’t think you need to. Make connections. Keep an open mind about everything. The world is changing on a daily basis.
What are your plans following graduation?
I plan to move to Columbus, Ohio, and obtain a job as a Choral Director.
Finally, what’s one thing you hope never changes about Heidelberg?
The connection between the faculty/Staff and the students.
