What made you choose Heidelberg, and when did it start to feel like home?
I was originally recruited to come play volleyball at Heidelberg, but when I came to visit, I fell in love with the small town and welcoming atmosphere.
What’s a class, club, or activity you joined on a whim and ended up loving?
I didn't really join any club, class, or activity on a whim, but I joined Cru during my junior year, and I love it. I am currently serving on the leadership team and aim to be a light and set an example of Christ's love to my fellow classmates.
What’s your best “only at Heidelberg” story?
When I was a junior, the volleyball team held a fun spring competition called Water Wars. It was kind of like a high school Nerf Wars, but with only the volleyball team.
What relationship or friendship here has meant the most to you and why?
The friendship that means the most to me are all of the lifelong friends I have made from Cru and Volleyball. They mean too much to me because I will carry these friendships with me wherever I go for the rest of my life.
What opportunity outside the classroom shaped you the most?
The opportunities with Cru and now being in leadership have shaped me the most. It has shaped me to become a better follower of Christ and has helped me grow in my own faith. This opportunity has allowed me to reach students and leave a lasting impact on them by sharing the love of God with them.
What is a lesson from college that you will carry with you forever?
A lesson from college I will carry forever is something I learned from being an athlete at Berg. I learned that no matter what, always work hard and put in your best effort every day, even if your best effort isn't the same 100% every day. This lesson matters because it teaches you that you won't be perfect all of the time, but you should continue to work hard.
What memory still makes you smile, no matter what?
The memory that still makes me smile no matter what is my spring break trips I have gone on with friends I have made along the way.
What experience at Heidelberg best prepared you for your next step?
My classes have best prepared me for the next step because they taught me how to multitask and be productive even when I have a lot going on. This has prepared me because even under stress, I have been able to stay calm and get what needs to be completed done.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen about how to be successful at Heidelberg?
Open yourself up to new things. Get involved on campus because you never know what is out there waiting for you when you step into a place.
What are your plans following graduation?
I will be pursuing my Master's of Healthcare Administration through LSU online.
Finally, what’s one thing you hope never changes about Heidelberg?
I hope the community aspect and the way the professors care about the students never change.
