The Heidelberg University School of Music and Theatre is proud to present The Laramie Project. The Laramie Project is the a docudrama that utilizes actual interviews, journals, and press writings to recount the effects of the 1998 murder of gay college student Matthew Shepherd in Laramie, Wyoming. The piece explores how the murder affects not only the families and perpetrators but entire town of Laramie. The play originally premiered in 1998 and drew national attention to the lack of hate crime laws across the United States and drew protests from Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church. Divided into three acts a cast of 22 actors will take on the performance of over 60 roles.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission.
