
Heidelberg Athletics takes pride in recognizing its student-athletes and teams who earned academic honors over the summer for their achievements during the 2024-2025 school year. Several programs were recognized, including Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Women's Swimming, Softball, and Baseball.
The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) announced its DIII Academic All-Ohio First and Second Teams for 2024. The Women's Soccer team had three athletes on the list: Brigid Enright, Syd Hewer, and Olivia Perry. The team is led by Head Coach Madalynn McLaughlin. Brigid, goalkeeper, and Syd, midfielder both earned First Team All-Ohio. Olivia, defender, earned Second Team All-Ohio.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) recognized the Top 25 teams in each division, including Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Two-Year Colleges. Heidelberg's Women's Basketball team, led by Head Coach Erin Eaton, received Special Mention for the 2024-25 School Year, with a team GPA of 3.63, the second-highest GPA in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Berg Volleyball was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award list, joining a record-breaking 1,450 teams honored nationwide. Led by Head Coach Jason Miller, 2025 marks Heidelberg's 8th year in a row of maintaining a cumulative team GPA of 3.3 or higher.
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named Heidelberg's Women's Swim Team one of 763 teams recognized as Scholar All-American Teams for the 2025 Spring Semester. Berg's team, led by Ben Rath, had a cumulative GPA of 3.21.
Nine of Heidelberg's Softball players secured a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete honors list for the 2024-25 school year, led by Head Coach Mari Briggs. DIII Softball had over 2,500 athletes on the list, including Berg's Leah Arnett, Aubrey Baker, Aubrey Conklin, Haley Gockstetter, Kamryn Rastigue, Lillie Robeson, Gabbie Stallbaum, Jade Torres, and Ellie Tressler.
The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced that over 440 college programs nationwide have earned the 2024-25 Team Academic Excellence Award, including Heidelberg's Baseball Team. Led by Head Coach Chad Fitzgerald, the team received the honor for maintaining a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2024-25 school year.
In the 2024-25 academic year, Heidelberg set a new record by honoring 132 student-athletes to the Academic All-OAC list. As Opportunity Makers, Heidelberg is determined to empower our athletes to succeed both on the field and in the classroom, blending academic ambition with athletic passion to shape well-rounded leaders.
