Heidelberg’s Chemistry Club is part of the American Chemical Society Student Affiliate, chartered in 1949. The club is active on campus through different events that provide chemistry and biochemistry students with professional experience, but the club is open to all students interested in how chemistry impacts daily life.
Chem Club sponsors group and campus-wide events throughout the year. Past events have been a taco social, drive-in movie, and a live chemistry demonstration show for area children. Through a relationship with Ford Research Laboratories, students are able to visit research laboratories and talk with Ford's research engineers every year.
The group also attends the National American Chemical Society Conference every year. For the last several years, our student’s research proposals have been accepted for presentation slots during the conference.
